When I was diagnosed with AIDS in 2011 I just let the Dr's tell me what to do, and took the pills and chose to ignore my disease mainly because it was controlling my life, making me depressed every minute. That became a habit and being vigilant with my meds, my numbers became great, but I just stayed out of the "loop" as far as medicine was concerned and never changed anything. Integrase Inhibitors didn't even exist back in 2011, but now that I want to get rid of Truvada because of it's kidney… read more
Thank you I was taking mine at night and you're right I have problems sleeping so I'm going to try taking it in the daytime
I was in the research group back in 2011. When approved it came under the name Triumeq. I gained wIt and fatty liver. I blame that on more of laziness. I am glad to hear others have insomnia. This last month I was hospitalized for kidney stones. The Dr in the hospital and my primary said to ask ID doc next appointment if Triumeq could cause them. Anyone know?
So, I ask this because it lets us all know about other medications available and reviews on them. I understand everyone is different and side effects may vary, but I'm asking specifically about your experience with the medication. Thank you for sharing/responding and have a blessed day.
P.S. - Does anyone know if there any HIV medications that have weight loss as a side effect?!
1. What HIV medication do you take
2. How do you like it/ How well does it work?
3. Side Effects?

"Biktarvy" I started 5 years ago
I don't have a question. I wanted to say. This one best treatments I have tried. No side effects. 😁 thank you.
Wow! That sucks and had to be horrible...
When I see my GP on January 11th I would like to know what type of antiretroviral medication is a good one that doesn’t have the side effect of trouble sleeping. Because on the injections, they have that side effect, it also causes depression and anxiety. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Indeed @A myHIVteam Member what would be the point. My inclination would be Biktarvy myself if I could afford it.
Butterfly50 would like to know...
Good morning I am reaching out to anyone. I've been taking Genvoya for a couple of months. I'm having something going on with my heart and I feel tried all the time. And I'm always depressed. I told my doctor and she refused to change my medication. So I'm asking if anyone that's taking this med. To let me know what kind of experience you have taking Genvoya. Thanks in Advance...Butterfly50
Took it for years with no problem
Reading up on side effects of Descovy and really considering asking my Dr. to go back to Truvada. Weight gain, higher cholesterol, and cardiovascular problems are all a side effect along with kidney damage . I think I'd prefer the kidney damage I was getting with Truvada...than the 30# I've gained since on Desovy and my cholesterol numbers are really elevated. My kidney numbers have improved. Seems to me your just trading which part of your body you'd rather damage. Am I missing something… read more

My most recent bloodwork indicates trouble with my kidneys. My Infectious Disease doc said this could be because i take a lot of ibuprofen for muscle pain and ibuprofen is bad for kidneys. He suggested I switch to Tylenol. Just wanted to share that in case it isn’t common knowledge. Thanks for reading. Summer has finally come to Colorado after chilly, rainy spring.
Thank you for the details on what cause the problems to the kidneys, I take Tylenol, no more than five grams a day, I have pain problems.
Do the early cocktail medications AZT and current medications such as Triumeq cause long term side effects, such as Trigeminal Neuralgia or kidney issues?
For me, it's neurotharpy and my stomach is extremely uncomfortable, and my balance is totally off!!
