I was recently diagnosed with osteoporosis. It's extremely rare for young guys like me to get this especially since my health is otherwise perfect except for being HIV+.
Christmas is to be a joyful time. But what is currently happening with the government is hard to ignore or even process. Along with what we with HIV deal with on a daily basis. The stress seems to have affected me both emotionally and physically. My CD 4's have dropped along with other health issues seemingly getting worse. Depression has kicked in more also. Worry about what the future holds, while trying to remain positive and live day to day. How are the rest of you coping?
As in most areas of my life I take things one day at a time! I’m very fortunate to have a relatively supportive family and a great MD who has my hiv pill burden down to 1 pill/day (Biktarvy) and… read more
I've been on Genvoya a little over a year, and it seems that I've gained weight. I've tried to diet, workout change eating habits. But I'm wondering is it the Genvoya. Is anyone else experiencing this?
I am using Genvoya since 2 years and I put on weight. I run 20km per week, go swiming 2x per week and I bike. I am taking care of what I am eating...I will contact my Dr next week to change treatment.

I am currently on this & just got my first blood test back & I am undetectable. Worth a little discomfort after the shot.
Anyone experience dental issues, such as cavities, loss of, or soft enamel and/or gum erosion as an adverse effect of their HIV meds, Atripla, specifically? I've been taking Atripla since it became available, 10+ yrs ago, and I'm having these dental issues, despite taking care of my teeth. My dentist thinks it's from the meds causing dry mouth, so that bacteria thrives in the mouth, softening enamel at the gumline, creating a good environment for cavities to form.
My cousin has been HIV positive for several years and the dentist had to pull all of his teeth and he has dentures as a result of meds. I’m not exactly sure what he takes. Blessings!
I was on Biktavy for 2 years and never missed a doze. My CD4 was 450, undetectable, then I switched to Cabanuva for a 2-month injection. After 6 months, my CD4 count has dropped to 314, and I am detectable again. I'm very upset and stressed right now. It seems like the Cabenuve 2-month injection is not working for me, despite the more than 50 side effects. I went back to Biktavy; it's been 2 weeks. I plan on getting bloodwork after 1 month to see if there's any change. The problem with Biktavy… read more
