Members opened up about being infected by a partner who was dishonest or unfaithful, sharing deeply personal stories of betrayal, denial, and ultimately finding strength. Several members described partners who denied knowing their status, blamed them instead, or never got tested even after being told, while others found peace by focusing on their own healing and moving forward. A recurring theme was resilience, with members emphasizing self-worth, authentic living, and the importance of disclosure laws, with one member sharing how her husband's unwavering support helped her survive an AIDS diagnosis over 30 years ago.

After 15 years of marriage and blind loyalty…life’s a whirlwind. I’m coming up on my 10 year anniversary of finding out…a lot of suppressed emotions and trauma is surfacing but I allow myself to process and keep moving forward.

My x denied it until he couldn't deny it. His problem. I'm in treatment. He should not be going through what he's going through right now, because I told him 12 years ago. And so had other people from what I can see. We are still friends and I moved on with my life. I didn't need him to validate whether or not I got it from him. In hindsight, I wish I would have let the department of health handle him. But who knew he wouldn't get tested. His problem.

There are definitely people on here female and male that caught the virus because of it. My personal opinion. I think there’s more females who caught it from a cheating partner

He knew (so did all of his friends). He finally admitted it after falsely accusing me of giving him an STD and suggesting I get tested (6 months into the relationship). I WANTED to hate him, but I couldn't. I felt intrinsically connected to him until his death, even though we weren't together. Stockholm Syndrome!!
