Congratulations on 7 years undetectable 😁 I know it hasn't been easy 😌Im responding because I was in a similar situation, except my partner was always pos our 6year long relationship. When my status changed he left and I faced this new chapter completely alone. Its messed up truly😟 When you give your all to someone and they leave without explanation. You want to know why they've chosen this outcome, but honestly no answer would suffice. If he broke down to you word for word exactly why he left would it change the outcome? Probably not. If you had the chance to tell him everything your heart's been dying to say, would it make him see your view and feel your pain? This is also unlikely 😔 The truth is the damage is done. He has left you and even if he came back, you wouldnt be able to trust him like you did the first go around. I cant say therepy has brought me many breakthroughs in my journey, but It has taught me about radical acceptance. Its alot easier to focus on the future when we've accepted the past. My advice would be to find a professional to talk to and be honest with them about what you want at the end of the day. You still have neg feelings twords the ordeal and thats normal. They aren't miracle workers but maybe they can help you gain a different view. I hope 2026 brings you clarity and at the very least some new good memories to add tocthe collection 😊

I'm sorry that happened to you. Only time and a whole lot of letting go fixes that.

How do you cope with being infected by someone you trusted deeply?

Being infected by someone you loved and trusted is an incredibly painful experience, and your feelings are completely valid. Many people living with HIV have faced similar heartbreak and betrayal.

What you've accomplished in these 7 years is remarkable. Staying undetectable for 7 years means you've taken excellent care of your health despite the emotional pain of how you contracted HIV. That takes real strength.

A myHIVteam member shared a similar experience, saying they contracted HIV from a former partner who assured them they were negative and used protection. The diagnosis was life-changing, even when they knew the risk existed.

Your story matters, and sharing it can help others who feel alone in similar situations. The emotional wounds from being infected by someone you trusted can be just as challenging as managing the physical aspects of HIV.

Consider connecting with others who understand this specific pain. Many people have found healing through talking about their experiences and supporting others going through similar situations.

You're not alone in this, and your resilience in maintaining your health for 7 years shows incredible courage.

I forgave him and continue to stay by his side for the next 7 years after that happened and I was diagnosed and he walked out on me without warning without telling me why just got out of prison after I took care of him the whole time he was there and just went off with some other woman won't even talk to me or give me a reason why he's done this
