Thank you for the information. In Indonesia, medical data such as HIV status is also protected by health privacy regulations, and many workplaces do not require HIV testing unless it is related to specific international assignments.
My main concern is not working domestically, but pursuing my dream to work abroad, where visa and immigration medical requirements may be stricter and could make the process more challenging. I hope that in the future there will be more inclusive policies so that people living with HIV can still have equal opportunities to work internationally.
@A myHIVteam Member I see that you are from Indonesia, if your job is in that country, that government might not have safeguards in place to protect your privacy and status against discrimination in the workplace. On the other hand, If this job is under US jurisdiction, you are protected by federal law against discrimination, having HIV does not disqualify people from working, however, you will need legal status to work in the US in order to enjoys its protections.
