Is that your overall cholestorol figure Julie? The danger level in the UK is 5.0 Above that figure, Statins are needed to prevent Heart Disease.. Last month I went to 5.3 Overall. I recently started to take a side effect free stain at bedtime called Rosuvastatin.
Unfortunately Julie HIV will undoubtedly increase your cholesterol levels so at one point you will have to be on a statin.
Unfortunately HIV causes cholesterol increases. I am very strict on my diet but last year I was put on a statin to avoid any cardiovascular disease. It is quite difficult to lower it on your own. You should seriously consider a statin. They don't affect me at all and my cholesterol is back down.
It could be your medication or just a natural situation for you. Just keep doing your routine. Also there are medications that could help your situation. Good luck and take care.
Exercise , limit the sweet and soda. Walking or jogging is also good. Take care and good luck.
