A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭

HIV therapies are a must to keep the virus in check. Keeping the time you take your pill(s) at the same time everyday will help keep you at an undetectable level. Besides taking your HIV regimen religiously every day, do you tend to lag behind on any other medications you take? I take my HIV pill at 8pm every night. But my neurapathy pill, inflammatory pills, lung medication I tend to lack on sometimes. I have alarms set to take my meds, but sometimes I just don't take them. BESIDES your HIV… read more

Now but it's a female , basically I'm asking because I always have a guy, Doctors throughout my diagnosis I feel I can tell him anything, I got an appointment this Thursday to see her what should I say I don't feel comfortable with her? I Switched From Biktavy To Cabenuva Injection And Now I’m Detectable And Cd4 Low🤦🏽‍♀️
A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭

I was on Biktavy for 2 years and never missed a doze. My CD4 was 450, undetectable, then I switched to Cabanuva for a 2-month injection. After 6 months, my CD4 count has dropped to 314, and I am detectable again. I'm very upset and stressed right now.  It seems like the Cabenuve 2-month injection is not working for me, despite the more than 50 side effects. I went back to Biktavy; it's been 2 weeks. I plan on getting bloodwork after 1 month to see if there's any change. The problem with Biktavy… read more

Eating Food And Taking Medication.
A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭

Ok so this could be a continuum of the last question I posted about sun exposure. But I will just make a different post. Since this is on my mind now (because I JUST DID IT), I had another question about how to take your medication
A lot of the HIV pills you must take with food. What if you are in a position to where you can't eat but must take your pill? Do you take your pill without eating? Do you find a quick bite to eat somewhere or somehow
I had an early supper and ate heavy. Now that it… read more

I take it regardless if I have food with me or not but I try and make sure I do eat something within an hour of taking my med. Only 1 of the 4 meds I take for HIV suggests taking it with food. I have… read more

2024 Retrovirus Conference
A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭

The 2024 retrovirus conference ended this week and there was some promising news. They found out the drugs Islatravir and lenacapavir taken together once a week worked just as well as once a day ARVS. To me this is good news since I really hate taking pills everyday. Instead of 365 pills a year ,taken 52 pills a year sounds good to me.i know there is the every other month injectable’s but i dont know if i want to get injections just yet. Of course this new once a week drug is still at least a… read more

I can't remember if I took it this morning, the spot in the pill box is empty. But I also don't remember if I had filled it yesterday.

How Is Your Dental Care?
A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭

If you, or someone you know, is living with HIV/AIDS, the American Dental Association recommends that dental health care be part of all HIV/AIDS treatment plans. That’s because people living with HIV/AIDS are more susceptible to infections including dental infections, which can affect their overall health
Your mouth may be the first part of your body to be affected when infected with HIV. Because infection with HIV will weaken your immune system, this means you will be susceptible to… read more
