Members came together to support the post about living with severe anxiety, depression, loneliness, and HIV, with many sharing that they face the same daily struggles including panic attacks, isolation, and treatment-resistant depression. Several members offered practical coping strategies such as breathing exercises, mindfulness, medication management, dietary changes for gut health, and reaching out to HIV agencies for mental health support. A recurring theme was the deep need for community connection, which inspired the original poster to create a Facebook group called MyHIVTeam Mental Health Support Champions as an ongoing space for members to lean on one another.

I suffer from extreme anxiety as well as depression from my HIV as well. I tend to isolate because I don’t want to bring others down. I worry about money and I still beat myself up over having been so foolish with my life. I loat my job, my marriage and my health and.at 70 age and disease are taking its toll. I try to live one day at a time but there are some days I barely get out of bed. I know others on here have it way worse than i do but have much brighter attitudes and i envy them. There. Don’t you feel better? Anyway, I’ll be your friend for what that’s worth. Try and have a decent day and I’ll talk to you soon. - Jeff from CO.

Speaking of eating disorders, I have recently found out by trial and error that I am lactose intolerant and also am learning how the foods that I eat affect my mental and physical health. It's pretty amazing what a difference it makes. I firmly believe that good gut health is a major factor in both physical and mental pain.
