They say 'silence is golden,' but for some, silence is where the loudest thoughts live. What is your 'noise' of choice when you want to drown out the quiet? Is it music, a podcast, the TV, or just staying busy?

Members shared very different feelings about silence and being alone, with some finding it peaceful and others finding it brings restless or heavy thoughts. Several members described using alone time as a chance to decompress, reflect on good memories, or focus on Bible reading as a source of comfort. A recurring theme was learning to sit with quiet over time, with many noting that faith, purpose, and staying connected to something meaningful helped them find peace in the stillness.

Im still waiting to get my physical theraphy letter to be able to go back to work . I had full hipsurgery March 30th 2026 . It takes 6 to 8 weeks recovery . My boss knows and as soon as I’m recovered and have my proof of able to return I plan on going back .

My alone time is "decompression time". A time to work through the negative thoughts and to recall all of the great memories from the past and the new memories yet to make.

My husband and I do a lot of travelling. Every new country visited will give him another memory to recall when I am no longer here.
