I normally spend the holidays cooking with family and having a bunch of relatives over at our house for dinner this year we’re gonna do something different. I am going to travel from Reno to Modesto California for holidays at my sisters house. She is hosting at her house for the first time in our new home so I am looking forward to not cooking and I am looking forward to not decorating as we are spending Thanksgiving and Christmas in Modesto California and I’m looking to just spending time with family.

Your children are beautiful amador. Holidays whether traditional or not are what we choose it to be. Much love everyone and enjoy the moments.

I don't have a tradition right now (last three years been rough). I left home 12 years ago (I didn't think) and had went back once before my mom transitioned in 2018. But we centralized thanksgiving around her cooking( she was low key chef like most southern mothers) she'd start cooking hamhawk for greens two weeks before and buy greens a week before (mustard, kale, and another idk) she always did pies and cakes, turkey, ham, deviled eggs ya know the works. I didn't realize while young how prepared she was... because now I noticed between Thanksgiving and Christmas she switched the cake and pies we'd have to theme each year. For thanks giving we did sweet potatoes pies and yellow (vanilla inside)and brown(chocolate inside) chocolate cake; and, for Christmas coconut pie maybe a sweet potato, and pineapple upside down cake with a five layored sock it to me cake ( vanilla cake, with fruit inside with whipped cream toppings) I missed the last years of these traditions probably 8years because I was stuck in my addiction.....I miss my mom everyday and feel horrible because I was trying to understand myself I left home and lost my traditions I spent years with ppl here to that I love enjoying their traditions but I did leave her hanging....I enjoyed cooking with her watching her cook.....we all did as disturbed as we were Carson 703 kids loved a Mary Johnson plate and she will always be remembered for a home maker god fearing women and the hardest working advocate for the foster care system of dinwiddie county and I love and miss her for life.
