I've been taking HIV medication from 1996 until now. That is 25 years of taking lifesaving but rather toxic medication. Just wondered it anyone has taken one in the past or now. If so, for how long, and were there were any resistance or viral load consequences during the break?
Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving!!!
I went 6 days without not really on purpose , on the 6 day I had labs. My viral load went up to over a hundred thousand copies per ml. I was undetetectable. That was June. I was back under 40 in a month and am 25 now but won't be doing that again anytime soon.
Never. In fact, you could set your clock when I take mine. My phone alarms every evening at 8:30pm. If in public, I can take it and no one is the wiser. As of Last week, my CD4 is 1638. I do not want to jeopardize or risk anything that concerns my health and well being.
That being said, I do suffer from some side effects. Nausea, muscle aches, tiredness, etc.
However, as of now, all my blood test results are coming in as good. Only two areas are concerning to me, but not my doctors. One area a little high and one area a little low.
+ Since Dec 2013.
U+ Since May 2014.
Not one day of missing my meds.
never thought of taking a drug holiday as I am too worried about developing drug tolerance and running out of HIV meds to take.
Yes had some major pain it’s been now 10 years hiv but yes agree with you since thanksgiving felt depressed and not too hungry but just eating and my knees and ankles got bad on me during the thanksgiving holiday so yes totally truth to what you said about lifesaving but toxic medication
