Clinical Trials. Would Clinical Trials Be Able To Get My Viral Load To Non Detectable?

A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭
Saint Louis, MO

My doctor is a well-respected researcher of infectious diseases. She said that because I've been on medication for over 30 years that she didn't think my viral load would ever be non detectable given the enormity of medications I have been given. Are there any clinical trials going on for people on my situation. My viral load is 124.

I would be hesitant with that comment ..I am afraid my dear friend that if you went off meds that the HIV would kick in ..maybe not the first three days but after a week of no meds bet your detectable again..but as long as u take your meds I believe your life will only get better!

Well I'm sorry but I quite don't understand that if your dr is a top infectious disease doctor then she should know the clinical trials that are available in the United States and the injectables. Perhaps it's time for a second opinion from another doctor?
