Hello all, who is taking <a href="/treatments/biktarvy">Biktarvy</a>? <a href="/resources/getting-started-on-myhivteam?mht_campaign=5f174cb6f535280f21c018d2&mht_medium=keyword&mht_source=Question">Im new</a> to it, ive been taking it for a month but i would like to know about side effects on a long term.

@A myHIVteam Member That’s nothing compared to where mine was. I was at 68,502 with a CD4 count of 128 (200 or less falls into the AIDS range). In a single month, that number dropped to 29 and my CD4 count increased to 228. (I’m now out of the AIDS range). I have reached undetectable and will have my draws again on Monday. Hello..👋🏼..I have been on <a href="/treatments/biktarvy">biktarvy</a> for a year and half and it been okay so far....i have had minor side effects from the meds ...after a three months on the meds i developed a rash on the back of my calves.(dermatistis)....my dr sent me to a dermatologist and they prescribed a cream that helps...but i do have flair ups from time to time....my labs are good and always been undetectable ...most people do pretty.well on this medication...stay healthy and try to reduce your stress and you should be good....just keep up on your labs and meds.👍.best of luck to you..this is a good place to ask questions and there are good people here who genuinely want to help........take care and be safe out there.....✌im carlos 👋🏼

I’ve been on <a href="/treatments/biktarvy">Biktarvy</a> since May, 2020 with no side effects. Have you had your first blood draw yet? My numbers improved dramatically just after a single month.

think I have been on for 6 months maybe a year. The main side effect I deal with is insomnia but getting better with dealing with it and maybe little weight gain

I had a fall in 2017 and broke 4 ribs, year later got pneumonia. The pneumonia crippled my immune system, been 2 years and CD4 so far only 95. But through it all have stayed undetectable.

@A myHIVteam Member I try to set a bed time and turn every thing off. If I try with tv on I will stay up all night. still only sleep about 6 hours

I was switched over to Biktarvy from Genvoya due to viral escape into my spinal fluid. I find fewer side effects however my sleep patterns have changed. I recently discovered that my current constipation is due to my stage 3 kidneys. Occasionally I do feel a cold numbness in my left arm while resting. My Biktarvy comes with chaser of Edurant for the viral escape. I had never heard of this before. I hope this helps somehow.

Exactly, a normal range for a CD4 count is 500-1,600 and as I explained before, anything under 200 is considered to be within AIDS range. As for viral load, depending on the system, it can be detected down to 40 and sometimes 20, but generally anything under 40 is undetectable which means untransmittable.
