Does Anyone Take Biktarvy And Prilosec?
A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭

Does anyone take Biktarvy and omeprazole or Prilosec? Do you have any issues with your RNA? My number is down to 60 but I’m stuck there. I take biktarvy and omeprazole 12 hours apart but still stuck at 60 for almost a year. Any comments or suggestions will be appreciated.

@A myHIVteam Member This is so true. We have to be honest with ourselves first, no one else can do it for us unless we want to live in a nursing home. So no matter what OTC we take and if we smoke or drink alchol we need to make sure our doctors know. They can only provide us with good treatment options if we are completely honest with our doctor. They and or your pharmacy can tell you what OTC should not be taken with other medications we are on. If we can keep on top of that then our doctors should be able to know what will work for us and what won't. I do hope this information will help out a lot of people.

Very well said @A myHIVteam Member, I'm on Triumeq for 5 or 6 years now, my Dr. took me off of Omeprazole 4 years ago. CD4-Tcell numbers have climbed up to 629, where they were at around 290 4 years ago. She also told me that Omeperazole weakens the calcium in our bones.

I take them both but I've changed my diet because my physician has informed me that the medication I take for acid reflux is bad for your kidneys. I have had my mom and aunt on dialysis. Never want that and I like spicy food but I've given up my siracha for fresh ground pepper. See it all depends on what quality of life you want. I want to see my grandchildren graduate.
