Members shared practical strategies for supporting CD4 count alongside medication, with many emphasizing healthier eating habits like adding more fruits and vegetables, reducing soda and dairy, staying hydrated, and cutting back on alcohol. Several members described lifestyle changes that helped them feel better overall, including regular exercise, stress reduction, getting adequate rest, and staying mentally engaged with activities they enjoy. A recurring theme was the importance of patience and realistic expectations, as CD4 counts naturally fluctuate with illness, time of day, and past treatment history, with many finding reassurance in stable viral loads and working closely with their doctors to find the right medication regimen.

Eating healthy, more fruits and vegetables, cutting your take of dairy foods. Work out too. Get enough rest and do the things you love doing . And always keep a positive mind .

@A myHIVteam Member thanks for that information. My doctor put me on Biktarvy.

My doctor recommended I never do labs in the AM to measure my CD4 counts when possible. This is because CD4 counts naturally drop overnight and the same is true for uninfected persons. Having labs later in the day or as late as your lab is open will show a rise in CD4 counts and this will show you your truer CD4 count. I also switched my two-pill (twice a day) regime to Genvoya which I only take once a day now. Plus, Genvoya is developed to do less damage to kidneys and bones over time than other meds which cause problems down the road.

here is something to read. This would help CD4 counts, not sure how much they would increase though.
