Members connected over the frustrating and painful experience of sciatic pain, with many sharing that they also deal with nerve-related discomfort that can be linked to HIV, medications, or years of physical work. Several members shared what has helped them find relief, including yoga, exercises found on Pinterest, over-the-counter patches and BioFreeze gel, prescription medications like gabapentin and Lyrica, and nerve ablations. A recurring theme was the importance of talking to a provider, getting imaging like MRIs or X-rays, and advocating for yourself to find the right treatment plan.

IDK. I had horrible backaches every time I walked more than a block while I was taking genvoya and truvada. It literally felt like someone was turning a screw. They aren't as bad on biktarvy. But when it decides to act up. It'll put me down.

Lyrica (Pregabalin) was a game-changer for me. After having sciatic pain frequently, I started taking Lyrica about 5 years ago and haven't had an incident since.

Steve sorry to hear about your pain. I also suffered for over a year with sciatic pain and I feel for you. What helped me was Yoga I also found a lot of excercises on Pinterest that really helped me. It’s not totally gone but totally manageable now. All the best to you
