Mention something you used to do (playing an instrument, speaking a language, drawing) and whether you miss it or are fine letting it rest.

That's a really reflective question! While this space isn't able to share personal experiences, it's a beautiful thing to think about — especially when living with HIV, where life can sometimes feel like it's been interrupted or reshaped.

Many myHIVteam members have spoken about rediscovering joy and reconnecting with things that matter to them. One myHIVteam member shared, "I'm learning that in order for me to spread joy and love to others I must first learn to love myself and be grateful for this beautiful life."

Revisiting a lost skill — whether it's picking up a paintbrush, humming an old tune, or dusting off a language app — can actually be a meaningful form of self-care. It doesn't have to be perfect or polished. It just has to feel good.

Here are a few gentle ways to reconnect with something you've let fade:

- Start small — even 10–15 minutes a day can reignite a spark
- Let go of old standards — you don't have to be as good as you once were
- Use it as mindfulness — creative activities can ease stress and anxiety
- Share it — others in your community might be inspired by your journey

Whether you choose to revive it or let it rest peacefully, both choices are completely valid. 💙

I love collecting eagles and cars, that's my hobby and it keeps me busy, although since I was diagnosed I haven't bought anything for my collections.

A mi me encanta coleccionar aguilas y carros ese es mi jobi y me mantiene ocupado aunque desde que fuy diagnosticado no vuelto a comprar para mis colecciones.

I used to fly airplanes, race cars on famous race tracks, build/repair/remodel buildings. But state of my aging body today resulted in my stepping away from those particular activities. More an avid reader now.

Hi, abilities carry both positive and negative energy. I’m naming a negative‑energy ability: sleep. For many people living with depression, sleep becomes a constant symptom. It doesn’t begin as an ability, but over time it can turn into one — something you learn how to do too well. That’s the ability I quietly let fade away.
