It depends on the meds and your body. For me I didn’t feel any side affects for tivicay and discovy. If you do get side affects. Don’t stop the medication. It’s your body adjusting to the changes. The side affects will lessen and diminish. However, it is possible for some side affects to be completely intolerable and don’t subside. If that happens don’t stop your medication until you see your doctor.

If you do get side effects, they usually last about a month, then subside, if they continue, then it is something to ask the doctor about. It's just your body trying to adjust to the highly toxic meds and your immune system trying to repair itself.

I really appreciate the answers. This last week has been probably the most terrifying week of my life and I’m sure I will have a bazillion more questions in the future.

The dr will do or may have done a genotype analysis. This will tell the dr. Which meds will work best for your strain. Hopefully you can get a list of possible treatments. You can review the side affects. I know it’s important to you. But don’t let the side effects control you.

@A myHIVteam Member also make sure you are honest with any other medication you take. And your alcohol and recreational drugs use. Because some meds not working well with self intoxication. Once you know which drugs you will be on it will be easier to get the side effects. Unfortunately there’s way too many combinations now
