When you were first diagnosed, what were both the positive and negative? How did you feel about the diagnosis? For me the negative was the anger and depression. I disliked myself for what happened to me and I thought I was going to pass away. I nearly commited suicide on 3 extra strength tylenol. The positive about my diagnosis, was it opened my eyes to what life really is and to appreciate what I have. Also me reaching U=U was a huge positive and step in my life.
That's right Joseph. Myself and hubby were also a part of PLDI and we both learned quite a bit of what PLDI is. Life is like a journey of uphills and downhills. Twist and turns. I was also diagnosed in 2016. Keep fighting the good fight my friend.
For me, my friend, it was the depression, loneliness, rejection and regret. Also, a lot of shame and guilt - all around a mixture of thoughts and feelings. It created more toxicity in my relationship and caused it to fall apart.. no one to blame really but myself for cheating back when I got cheated on in 2015, if only the clocks could go back but at the same time I have so much to be proud and thankful for, beautiful children that love me, a career opportunity down the road I see myself doing and retiring to. SO many things to be grateful for. Since my diagnosis in 2016, I have attended PLDI, which ran under the Ontario Aids Network, and since that time, I have attended conferences and met so many others like me across Ontario who have shared stories similar to mine, who can understand and know what it's like to be in my shoes.
I am proud to be here with all of you when I can be because it is all of you who help also keep me moving forward, not backward... Thank you🤗

yes it was a gift and a curse
Are you serious Rick Schott
I was crying my eyes out because I couldn't believe it was true. Then they told me they were going to do a retest and if it was negative, they wouldn't charge me but if it was positive, they would take care of my healthcare for life. So I waited a few weeks and hit the bath house heavy. Bottoming only bareback on Twink blackout night because I really needed the healthcare coverage...
