Thank you. I have an ART resistance test so I know that I am resistant to all medications except the meds I am on now. I will ask next time.

What happens if you develop resistance to your current ART medications and have limited treatment options remaining?

If you develop resistance to your current medications, your doctor can still help you find a treatment that works. Even when options seem limited, there are specialized injectable medications specifically designed for people who have resistance to other HIV drugs.

Two FDA-approved options include:
- Sunlenca (lenacapavir)
- Trogarzo (ibalizumab-uiyk)

These medications need to be taken alongside other HIV drugs to be effective. While this means you'll still need to take daily pills along with the injections, these combinations can help you achieve or maintain an undetectable viral load even when other treatments haven't worked.

Your HIV care team will work with you to find the best combination. With today's treatment options, there's hope for maintaining good health even with drug resistance.
