Doctor and I decided to move from Cabenuva to Biktarvy when the meds arrive next week. I'm looking forward to the change but also wondering how others are coping with any side effects and staying undetectable.

Members shared their personal experiences with Biktarvy after a post asked about side effects and staying undetectable while switching from Cabenuva. The overwhelming consensus was that Biktarvy is highly effective at achieving and maintaining undetectable viral loads, with many members reporting no major side effects beyond one widely noted concern: weight gain and belly fat. Several members offered helpful tips, such as taking Biktarvy at night with food and spacing out supplements to the opposite time of day.

I recently became detectable after a regimen of over 20 years became ineffective. I'm currently on Biktarvy along with another medication called Pifeltro... The last blood work I took was about a month ago and that is about 2 months into the medication and I went from having a viral load of 1,800 copies down to 27.
It's highly effective and as far as the side effects I take it at night before I sleep. Also make sure you take any supplements on the opposite time so if you take it at night take your supplements in the morning. It also as I heard gives a lot of people the big belly syndrome. I inject human growth hormone into my stomach so I have not had that problem in many many years thankfully. Good luck Michael.

I have been on Biktarvy for over a year now and have had no side effects at all. I just always take with food.

On Biktarvy, no side effects, I have weight gain, but that is from other medicines for other issues, I think.

I had serious weight gain (30 lbs, more than I'd gained in 30 years!) when I was switched to Biktarvy, needlessly, because of a purported problem with cardiac side effects from Triumeq. When those problems were disproven, I asked to be switched back to Triumeq. It took me five years to take off the extra thirty pounds, thank you very little.
I could have done entirely without ever having dealt with the misery of the weight gain, loss of self image, self worth, and the accompanying struggle against the geezer stereotype with the under-30 gays of today. Thanks a lot, Biktarvy...
