I truly believe in the good of people however when it comes to HIV I have my doubts. I contracted HIV by a guy who said when I asked if he was clean and negative he said yes. Well guess what he wasent.of course maybe he never got tested and had no idea he was carrying the virus. When I go on the evil Grindr or the other apps you see many say negative and on prep. Hmmm but how do I believe them. Or they say tested negative in 2023 in there profile.Hmmm what have they been doing since then. Your… read more

Members connected deeply over the question of whether people lie about their HIV status, with the strong consensus being to assume everyone is positive and make safer choices from that starting point. Several members shared personal stories of contracting HIV from partners who claimed to be negative, and many pointed out that dishonesty is not always intentional since some people are unaware of their status or in denial. A recurring theme was the importance of knowing your own boundaries, understanding the 3-month testing window, and protecting yourself rather than relying on others to be truthful.

Anal sex is the riskiest of all however the top is also at risk. HIV can enter through the body through the opening at the tip of the penis.also foreskin if the penis isent circumcised. A small cut or open sore anywhere on the penis can also be an entry point. Also some gay men inject drugs which can cause HIV. And vaginal sex can also be an entry way. Remember this is not just a gay disease it’s an every body disease

You can never tell for sure if someone's lied unless you go with them to hear their results. That doesn't just go with HIV either though. Some people can't be honest about what ever they say. Their are good people and not so good. You can only know for sure what you will allow as far as boundaries. Gay and straight people hook up, and their are risks to it. I haven't personally been physical with anyone since I found out I was positive 7 years ago, but thats my choice. Sometimes I don't like it and it may change in the future. I don't think there is really a right answer, just keep talking about it and listen to others and their thoughts. Hopefully you find what is acceptable for you.

If Trust came easily, why would it have such value(?) Think of it this way, how many hookups would you trust with your credit card, unsupervised(?). Yet, need I say it, you trust them with a possession of far greater value. @A myHIVteam Member.

Always assume someone is positive and make your choices from that point.
Also, if anyone asks me if I'm "clean", I'm simply walking away without giving them another moment to enjoy my existence 🫤

I feel this way maybe there is more then say they are positive, or not, I say if ppl aren’t lieing about they are not Positive,or Positive then I would have to follow my instincts, and ask us to take a HIV test to show one another it’s Positive, or Not,
it doesn’t cost
to Trust, umm 🤔
It shouldn’t be a Issue 🌺
