HIV+ since 2010. 51 yo. Undetectable, good health besides osteoarthritis making full hip replacement necessary schedules mid-May but possibly soon if slot available. Always been active and loved walking dogs, hiking, and no issues with weight or fitness. Over the last 18 months the joint has become increasingly painful and despite rest, PT, diet adjustments to avoid inflammatory foods; the decline nosedived ≈ 3 mos ago severely limiting my mobility and in desperate need of relief.
not sure if this would work with hip problems, but it can't do any damage. Have you ever thought about getting a tens unit? It's low electricity for pain.
I’ve experimented with a couple tens units…ranging from the standard unit down to the battery powered hand held version that are more for pinpoint accuracy for trouble spots. I probably did not give it much of a chance and will revisit it tonight in fact. Thanks for the suggestion!
Good morning my friend and good to see you here today I can relate to your question as I had my right hip replaced last year and last week I just had a spinal fusion what I do is rest as much as I can hydrate take the pain medication and work with the physical therapist continue to take your HIV medications and think positively do not give into the pain and when in pain ask your doctor about taking Tylenol stay strong we are here for you😄
