Who Has Trouble Getting A Full Nights Sleep?
A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭

I seldom get more than 4 hours at once. What do you do to cope?

I was recently diagnosed with extreme sleep apnea and was only sleeping on average 2-3 hours a night and now with the machine I get 5-6 hours of sleep a night. Perhaps you should talk to your doctor and get a referral to a Sleep Clinic and see if you have this problem. Otherwise use Trazadone to get you a better sleep. Your doctor can write you a prescription. Very inexpensive sleep medication.

I have been WHAT IF-ing myself quite a bit lately.., not so much about HIV, but why did I fight getting my sh*t together for so long(?). I could have done so much more with my life. I guess the worst thing is scr*wing up young, then beating yourself up for it in later life. Neither gets you anywhere.

Yes I do I'm also thinking what if ' what if I would have done it different meaning what if I wouldn't have gotten it only if I would have been more cautious personally I didn't think I would be the one (hiv) ONLY IF.....it's just keeps going through my mind so much would be different

I had to edit, I noticed I made a mistake earlier (typed using my phone) I take anti-anxiety medication now. I've had problems sleeping, anxiety, and weight Loss since I started ART. I used to be very muscular, went to the gym often, and took care of myself. I still take care of myself and go to the gym often, but now the difference is, I cannot gain weight, I dropped about 20 lbs. and stayed this way since I started ART. It all started with using the bathroom around ten times at night until my body got used to the meds I was taking back then. I finally had them changed about a year later (Dr didn't want to change them before that). I'm on Dovato now and hoping I will gain some weight back, but it is extremely hard to do when I have anxiety and sleeping problems. Feels like my metabolism has been bumped up a couple of notches with the first round of meds I did (Prezista, Norvir, and Truvada combo). Since then, it's been hard to gain weight again. My T-cells are still hovering around 220 for the last 13 years.
