Taking Biktarvy since 2020, positive since 2017. I really don’t know what to make of it, but my eGFR is off by a point enough to flag High in my test, and my creatinine is slightly elevated. I do not supplement with creatinine, although I do work out quite a bit. When I look up eGFR ranges it indicates that kidney function is at 50%. Really? And my doctors isn’t concerned? I am. Should I be? Is it common for kidney function to be off taking this med? Omnivore. Non-smoker. Otherwise healthy-… read more
OK, thanks. Diet hasn’t changed over the years, but I do consume protein shakes now and then. The test has remained consistently off the last three tests over a year and a half which makes me suspect it is a side effect of the meds. Perhaps taking ibuprofen now and then has contributed.
Rarely drink sodas …
Food for thought *
I take the same meds. Fortunately. I have not had any kidney issues with any of the meds I have taken for treatment at all. But I also don’t drink alcohol… rarely, I don’t eat fast food or foods that are pre prepped hardly ever and I make my stuff from scratch hardly ever boxed frozen or pre made factory meals ie hot pockets ect. I believe this has been a driving factor for me . The stuff they put in our food is key to many of these problems as well. Oh and I really drink sodas processed juices etc. I do think these factors are major contributors in why my kidney function remains normal and why I haven’t seen any major medical problems from my medication. I also don’t do drugs Ever. Idk just good for thought 💭
Possibly relevant? Without any change in meds, lifestyle or diet, my LIVER numbers gradually went south. I went off Biktarvy. Replaced with Delstrigo, at my specialist’s recommendation.
I don’t know for sure that Biktarvy was the culprit, but I’m healthier now.
