I switched to biktarvy this last year and have put on the pounds. I thought the new meds were better. Maybe not.

Biktarvy will give you a pouch/gut but if you watch what you eat and exercise it helps.

I've been on Bictarvy for about 2 years now. The main thing to help is healthy food choices. I prefer to watch my intake of salt and cook at home with healthy ingredients like whole grain rice and various dry beans. This time of year is great for eating watermelons. 1 slice before eating a heavy meal will cut your portions in half. That keeps my weight where it needs to be.

2. Review Medications: Ask if your weight gain could be a side effect of your ART regimen and if changing it might help.
3. Diet and Exercise: Consider consulting a dietitian or exercise professional for personalized advice.
4. Mental Health: If weight gain is affecting your self-esteem, discuss this with your doctor. They may refer you to a mental health specialist.
