Finally Got Covid Vaccine, However Injection Was Stalled When I Disclosed I Was HIV:
A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭

I am really thankful my Doc put me on a list and his nurse got me a very saught after appointment . Our current phase is now including 65 and over patients of which I am one. The hospital where I am a patient was very well organized from beginning to end. However, while the nurse began asking health and allergy questions before giving the shot, the questioning stopped after she asked if I was immune compromised or had an auto immune issue? She asked what condition I have and I said HIV… read more

I am so grateful my Doctor scheduled me for covid vaccine. I actually sent her flowers in appreciation. If not for her I would still be waiting

Still waiting. I might decide to forego getting the vaccination and take my chances.

Would you have gotten covid without vaccine? Have you gotten covid yet? Has your immune system blocked covid so far? What's in the covid shot? If healthy people that have gotten the shot got extremely sick or died? What has happened with other vaccines or meds.in the past? Why no vaccine for H I V over the last 35- 40 years? Research please

@A myHIVteam Member For those who get the vaccination can still get Covid but you should not have so you should not have a lot of complication with it and should help you get over it a lot faster so it is worth getting it when we can.

I’m sorry to hear of your experience, you can’t have been the only positive person to have had the jab and will have sadly experienced much discrimination in your lifetime - unfair, and it still goes on. Just pleased you got your shot.
Had mine 5 weeks ago and still in lockdown, 5 months of being at home. We’re now with second vaccination 11-12/52 after so my second is booked for 28/03. I do wonder what the benefits are (seeing as a friend of mine has been vaccinated and has also just contracted covid), but if it helps us get back to a more ‘normal’ life then I’ll stick with it. Keep well 🤗
