Politics Behind AIDS And Coronvirus Seem Similar:
A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭

Those of us who are long term survivors can remember back in the 70's. 80's when the Regan administration downplayed AIDS at the beginning of the epidemic, reluctant to put much money behind it, and not even say the word AIDS. And the virus spread and people died. Seems like the Trump Administration is sending out mixed messages, with scientists, doctors, the CDC and even people in his own cabinet telling us to take this quite seriously, and how to prepare, and what to know. And President… read more

No not too similar, like nobody is making jokes on the Corona Virus, like I heard back in the mid 80s, at work, and amongst the Hetero population, about Gay men with AIDS. In the mid 80s then President & Vice President never mentioned the words Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome, or Human Immunodeficiency Virus enough. Today these Bastards of a President & Vice President are using this Corona Virus for publicity & propaganda. They in one day said CORONA VIRUS more times than Ronald Reagan said AIDS in his 8 years in Office, thus delaying Funds to save lives of many lost to our Virus.

I think the government is taking all prudent steps that should be taken (just as happened 10 years ago during H1N1 outbreak). I don't particularly care who the president is on this. I only care that he doesn't get in the way of response. IMO, this one has done well in response to COVID-19 so far. I think it's likely that the government IS downplaying exposure because too many are overplaying it. Wash hands, stay home if we're sick, and avoid crowds for awhile....common sense.

Yes, this truly brings many memories even for those of us who had not been diagnosis just yet. But we knew people who did and when they died it made us sad that government was not taking this seriously, now the government is doing the same thing with this new virus and making it out to be a joke. It is never a joke when something like this happens and people start dying. Shame on our current President and Vice President. Yes people.. take this seriously and even if you are a republican, please help us vote these two people out of office before it is too late.

Well I do believe it's a terrible issue with that ass. Buy can never forget when AIDS came out people were freaky and acting like assholes. Maybe they had the right to but I really believe AR e our president doesn't know what's going on. I think with all the research we have things will get better I pray that will happen. But as for him he must go you need to jump off a bridge or something. Sorry for being so explicit but that's the way I feel. Everyone have a good day
