Members opened up about what they would most like to change about themselves, with responses ranging from physical insecurities like teeth and body hair to deeper emotional struggles including social anxiety, fear of meeting new people, and difficulty connecting after years of living with HIV. Several members shared how managing chronic illness has affected their confidence and social skills, with one noting the challenge of rebuilding conversational abilities after feeling isolated for much of their life, and another offering compassionate support by reminding someone that rejection often reflects others' inability to handle vulnerability rather than personal failure. A recurring theme was the emotional toll of feeling lost, misunderstood, or disconnected, balanced by community members stepping in with solidarity, encouragement, and reassurance that they are not alone in their struggles.

Set up a support system that can help you through. If you can't find anyone, I'll be there as much as I can for you. I'll see if there's good people you can have to support you in your area so someone can be a bit closer when you need. Hang in there, you'll make it through. I'm sending you some positive energy your way.

@A myHIVteam Member, If a guy doesn't get back in touch with you 9 times out of 10 it's because he can't handle what you told him. Especially when it's the TRUTH, most guys can't handle it. That's not your fault. It's better you know in the beginning than later. Even though the feeling won't be any better. It takes a while for you to get thicker skinned, you'll still have days thst it will get to you. I can say it will get easier. Everyone is different, so I can't say when it will for you. Don't leave your heart open for others to get to too easily. Make sure it's worth our time before you put your heart out.
