Members shared the wide range of side effects they still manage from HIV medications, with chronic fatigue, nausea, neuropathy, and gastrointestinal issues being the most commonly mentioned ongoing challenges. Several members offered practical strategies including over-the-counter caffeine tablets for energy, gabapentin for nerve pain, pain pumps for chronic pain management, switching medication regimens when side effects become unbearable, and using sleep aids like diphenhydramine to combat insomnia. A recurring theme was the importance of listening to your body without guilt, recognizing when to step back from work or other obligations, and understanding that everyone's experience with the virus and medications is deeply personal and variable.

I recently had an issue when I switched my meds from Atripila to Genvoya. My feet and legs swelled up to the point it was difficult to walk. I am now on triumeq and so far it seems to be working fine no side effects

I've read a lot and the virus and the meds combined cause heart disease. From what I've read, we're more susceptible because of either and both. It's just another thing we have to watch. I don't stress. There's other things that have kept the heart pumping for more than thirty years. You can't stress about everything announced that could effect us. We learn our own body, and listen to it.

Fatigue is the killer for me.
I try to use supplements to increase energy and I have started walking more to stimulate and energize my body.
I would kill for a solid nights rest.

My neuropathy worsens, pain meds kill the Iain easily. The tingling is still maddening. Greatly reduced but high doses of gabapenton works best. Nothing makes it stop...
