It’s hard but as long as you take your meds everything will be ok. You can’t live in fear all the time. That will put a wedge between you and your partner. To be safe have them to use prep. Set… read more
I’m so confused on what is considered undectable. First I hear 200 or under was considered undectable, then they came out with other sensitive tests that say under 50 is undectable. Now it’s under 20. What’s next another sensitive viral load test that measures under 10. So confusing. I’m at 40 am I considered undectable with a 657 cd 4 count? My doctor says I’m doing fine but that doesn’t answer the question any thoughts?

The risk is so low and theoretical that it’s not worth worrying about. Think about it: HIV is transmitted through semen, blood, vaginal and rectal fluid, and breast or chest milk. People living with HIV who are treated with HIV medications and who are virally suppressed (undetectable) cannot transmit HIV through sex―the main mode of transmission of HIV in the U.S.―even if you come into contact with any of these fluids during sex.
But in the context of being masturbated by a person living with… read more

I take mine also around 5:00 p.m.
What's in my blood that will indicate that I am HIV undetectable? Is there some kind of dormant or "dead copy" of the virus that confirms that? Otherwise, if it's GONE, why are we still taking the meds? Thanks.
@GlenLT Yes the virus can hide in lymph nodes where the ART can't get to it. It will lay dormant until it thinks it is safe to come out. So take your meds daily.
As per my last post thanks for all the great responses. I feel so much better I’m in the green zone. However lots of questions on what truly is undectable. So many different opinions even from doctors. We know the tests are getting more sensitive on viral load and soon I’m assuming that under 10 will be the new normal than the current under 20. With that being said does a 200 viral load considered to be worse then 100? Does under 20 mean better then 40? And So on and so on.or it’s all relative… read more
Good Morning Paulm63
Well except for the United States as usual who ALWAYS lags behind.
You're hearing it here first:
Low level DETECTABLE now equals UNTRANSMITTABLE.

CALLING ALL BI MEN
Because we have a foot in both the straight AND gay community BISEXUAL men have faced a higher level of stigma for having HIV. Then add the fact we were already being maligned, told we don’t exist and that we just need to ‘Pick a side’ has been devastating to those of us who are identify as bisexual. As a carrier for the HIV virus, bi men are accused of bringing HIV from the gay to the straight community
And things have not changed that much for the better. Recently I… read more
Just use protection be completely honest.
Being gay I know all to well about HIV and AIDS however I’m beginning to realize that straight people have a different perspective on this subject.of course I’m talking strictly about Americans not other countries where hiv is mostly a straight disease.some people actually think HIV is no longer around anymore. Or they say ohh I saw a commercial on tv they found a cure right? I’m like no.i feel like we live in 2 different universes and yes I know straight people get HIV also but for the… read more
