I have been living with HIV for 6 years now by the way. Have a great day!
Mine have cracked at times.
I’m noticing so many young women joining us here from around the world. While I welcome them, I’m sad that their infection wasn’t avoided. I see advertisements constantly encouraging HIV negative gay men to go on PrEP. I know gay men whose doctors encouraged PrEP. Perhaps I’m just missing it, but I don’t see the same push for sexually active women.
Yes
The 2024 retrovirus conference ended this week and there was some promising news. They found out the drugs Islatravir and lenacapavir taken together once a week worked just as well as once a day ARVS. To me this is good news since I really hate taking pills everyday. Instead of 365 pills a year ,taken 52 pills a year sounds good to me.i know there is the every other month injectable’s but i dont know if i want to get injections just yet. Of course this new once a week drug is still at least a… read more
Ditto! Same here. No more injections. No extra appointments thank you very much.
Undetectable sounds great on paper however we are still like those who don’t have this disease.we can get non hiv health issues that everyone on the planet gets.anyone dealing with medical issues unrelated to hiv that affects them.and does having hiv make it harder to control your other conditions?
@A myHIVteam Member. Yep.
Now that the pharmaceutical companies have found a way to keep us alive for 30+ years with a one a day pill,what’s the incentive for them to come up with another pill. Wouldn’t it makes sense for all scientists,pharmaceutical companies etc to now spend all their effort to find a cure. In 15 years from now biktarvy,dovato will lose there patents and these pills will me made by many different companies in generic form which will drop the price for these drugs dramatically?no longer will they be… read more

Ricky is the lookout for a South Bronx Crackhouse. He looks up and down the street, past decaying buildings, looking for customers and the police. Ricky’s 25 and looks 45. He’s an HIV+ crack addict. A black woman, who looks like a homeless, bag lady approaches Ricky. “They open,” she mutters. “Yeah. They slammin’ too!” Rick says. The skinny black woman hurries into the building. ”Bitch can suck a dick!” Rick says to me. “I hit that last week!” A big, black limousine with tinted windows pulls… read more
Interesting story, yet is true in the sense that I lived on 156th 3rd Ave in the Bronx born and raised, and back then I watched lots of crack head in the park around the corner from where I lived, I… read more
I've been taking Biktarvy for a little over 2 years. At my regular 6 month check in with my Dr., he noticed my kidney function #'s were low. Indicating my kidneys may not be functioning properly. I repeated my blood work a week later, and earlier this week everything was back to normal. Now he's really confused. I said "I'm an Enigma!" He thinks I may have been dehydrated, but how dehydrated do you have to be? I'm repeating my blood work in a month, and will have a f/u in 3 months instead… read more
