Vaccination Reactions
A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭

Thinking about this because @A myHIVteam Member just talked about a sore arm from vaccination, and partner & I are headed for vaccination today for flu & covid. How many people have a regular reaction to vaccination? I do every time (sore arm, feeling crappy). My partner, on the other hand, rarely has a reaction. I think that if I have a reaction, I needed the vaccination, otherwise the real thing would have been much worse. My partner says, "The reaction means your body was already primed… read more

Pneumonia Vaccine
A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭

I got diagnosed in November 2017.Before treatment my CD count was 1000. Do I need to get vaccinated against pnemonia or just wait until my CD count increases a little? My doctors say pneumonia vaccination is not urgent for me. I think vaccination will drop my CD count.

How Do You Try To Prevent Yourself From Getting Somebody Else's Sickness?
A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭

You are in public or at work. Maybe even at home. You see those people, hacking, coughing, blowing their nosees. The horror to all this is they don't cover their mouth or nose. Or they touch everything with those hands if they do, spreading their germs everywhere.
How do you protect yourselves from getting those germs, to make you sick?

Good to see the lotion too. Hand sanitizing dries out the skin for sure.

Have any of you had the papilloma virus vaccination or other vaccinations given that in any case we have a more fragile immune system compared to other non positive
In the past I had mononucleosis and I have doubts about the papilloma virus. i
.From the bottom of my heart I would like the cure for HIV to be available for everyone. Over time I accepted the illness, previously I saw it as a divine punishment. I have had psychotherapy over the years, and my mood has improved. If you want you can… read more

Monkeypox
A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭

Has anyone asked their doctor about monkeypox yet?
I just sent an email to my doctor to see if there was any kind of vaccine for it. From what I have read so far, it does not look like there is, but the smallpox vaccine is 80% effective against it. 80% is better than 0%.
Would you get a monkeypox or smallpox vaccine to try and prevent monkeypox?

Anyone Have Side Effects From The New Pfizer Or Moderma Booster For BA2-BA5 Omicron Variants?
A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭

Received my Moderma booster last Tuesday. Experienced two days with a fever over 100 degrees, and felt like a train ran over me. Went away in another day with the exception of some body aches. My doctor didn't seem too concerned about it when I called him. Just wondered if anyone else had especially bad side effects from this booster?

Also, as immune compromised individuals some with kidney disease among other chronic illness, are you still wearing a mask in public places in particular… read more

Are You Ready For The Flu Season?
A myHIVteam Member asked a question 💭

I just read a story (https://www.newscientist.com/article/2242113-au...) that the flu season in Australia, Chile, and South Africa was mildly low this year (Their flu season is May - August). More of this has to do with the Covid19 lockdowns and mask wearing.
Do you see the United States having the same results with the flu season, or do you think it will be worse? How will you prepair to fight Covid19 & the flu together?

Also I heard hep c and hiv don’t play well together but I heard hep c can be cured?
