I don't have a question. I wanted to say. This one best treatments I have tried. No side effects. 😁 thank you.
Wow! That sucks and had to be horrible...
I was diagnosed in 1987 living half my life with HIV. I am interested in connecting with people who are also Long Term Survivors. I have searched the site and have found quite a few. We are so few and far between it has been hard to find others who have been through the journey we have experienced. Having lost so many friends in the 80 's and 90's plus being diagnosed myself has made me feel survivors guilt and PTSD. Looking for others who have experienced some of the same and like to set… read more
1985 & diagnosed "full blown" 1990 although they don't use that term anymore! Thank goodness! I read earlier on this site a comment about "long term" & the difficulties we face. We do have different… read more
If so, how is HIV care differently where you are now, compared to where you were? This can be anything from medical care to housing, food or transportation.
I grew up in Toledo, OH up until almost 5 years ago, I haven't been a big difference between care in Chicago, except for the number of resources in the big city!

I brush my teeth at least 3X a day. 2 years ago I started taking Intelence. I've noticed that my teeth have gotten considerably weak and some teeth have cracked or partially broken. I fear I will have to start wearing dentures. I am convinced that it's the medication. I am taking Intelence and Epzicon now and have been having a problem with weak and sensitive teeth. 3 have broken and 2 other have chipped. I don't know what to do...I don't have regular medical insurance. I've got… read more
There are offices that do take Medicaid & Medicare. I'm on that insurance and get regular checkups for my teeth. I had to research and look a for along time.
Taking meds daily at the right time can keep up undetectable. For some people, after awhile that/those pill/pills can get frustrating. Have you or had you, ever decided to stop taking your meds? If you stopped, are you still off them? If you stopped and restarted, what made you restart? Have you ever thought about it but never did it?
I take my morning medication every morning and I take my night medication every night.i have a pill container for my morning medication and my night medication.
I have food issues and my medicine requires me to eat before taking the pill. I usually eat once a day then take my pill.
But since i eat at varied times, I take the pill after eating rather than at the same time every day.
Does anyone else have that issue or am i just weird?
Compliance (taking it EVERY day) and adherence (taking at the same time each day) are very important to avoid building a resistance to your meds. Today there are MANY available treatments for HIV. I… read more
I’ve noticed my hips have been giving me fits, it’s so bad it wakes me from sleep in serious pain. I am getting lots of rest and not wearing myself out yet it continues to get worse. Have never had these problems until I started ART and was just wondering if im the only one experiencing this. Thanks
Update: Third times a charm, Juluca is hopefully my last ART and as far as they go I’m loving it!
So, i was reading this article (which now i cant find to attach) and i found this information to be interesting and not fully accurate. Also, i do not like the wording “THE FINAL STAGE”. This is very scary word play and very offsetting. What are your thoughts?
AIDS is the final stage
Controlling HIV with medications is crucial to both maintaining quality of life and helping prevent progression of the disease. Stage 3 HIV, also known as AIDS, develops when HIV has significantly weakened the… read more
