Thanks so much for that information. I was freaking out but I feel better now. I'm going home tomorrow and I'll be able to take my meds.
Thanks so much! I'm back on track now.
you'll be ok if you been on meds long. there was a study done (and I participated in that study on my own without the doctor knowing) that you can take your meds 4 days on and 3 days off and nothing changes.
Taking HIV antiretroviral therapy (ART) for 4 consecutive days on followed by 3 days off per week can maintain viral suppression as effectively as continuous daily dosing in specific patients, according to clinical trials like the ANRS 170 QUATUOR study.
Study Overview and Key Findings
• The Trial: The ANRS 170 QUATUOR trial tested 647 participants who already had fully suppressed (undetectable) HIV for at least 12 months.
• Efficacy: At 48 weeks, therapeutic success (maintaining an undetectable viral load) was achieved in 95.6% of the 4-day-on/3-day-off group compared to 97.2% in the continuous 7-day group, meeting non-inferiority standards.
• Benefits: Participants in the intermittent arm reported higher daily life satisfaction and experienced a 43% reduction in treatment costs.
• Caveats: A small number of patients experienced virological failure or drug resistance, meaning this approach is not universally recommended for everyone.
For future references, I'd keep a day or 2 worth of pills in your car for these instances that you forget your meds. Just remember to change them out monthly so they won't expire.

🙈🙈🙈 I prefer not to skip any doses. My infectious disease specialist said that skipping doses can lead to viral resistance.
And I've seen relapses in some people when I go for my checkups, and I don't know if it's because they skipped some doses.
You will be fine, only a few days is okay to miss. When I was first diagnosed I was so afraid if I missed a pill I'd get sick, like right away. That doesn't happen and as long as its not often your virus will not become resistant.
