I'm in Florida also, my case worker is with AHF in St Pete. She's awesome. Can you change your CW?

when you signed on as a patient, you should have got some paperwork from your caseworker about if you had issues with them, to whom to contact. If you do not know where or if you no longer have that paperwork, just call the clinic and ask, "Can I have the supervisor for so and so." You do not have to go in detail, you don't have to give your name until you talk to the supervisor. Just tell whoever is on the phone it is a personal matter, and you need to speak to that supervisor. Or another thing you can do is just ask for a different case manager as well.
I hope you can get your issue resolved, good luck!

What legal assistance is available for HIV-positive individuals experiencing mistreatment or discrimination from case workers?
If you're facing discrimination or mistreatment, you have rights and there are people who can help. In the United States, people living with HIV are protected under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which means you cannot be discriminated against in health or social services.
Here are some steps and resources to consider:
- Contact a social worker or patient navigator — Many clinics have these on staff and they can advocate on your behalf and connect you to the right resources
- Reach out to the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program — They provide support services and can help connect you with advocates familiar with your rights
- Lambda Legal — This organization specifically handles HIV-related discrimination cases and offers legal support
- Your state's AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) — They work with local organizations and may be able to direct you to legal aid
- Local nonprofit organizations — Many states have HIV-focused nonprofits that assist with navigating mistreatment and paperwork
No one should have to tolerate being mistreated, especially when managing their health. Documenting incidents (dates, what was said, who was present) can also be very helpful if you decide to file a formal complaint.
