I think it is silent in a lot of people. Just be careful and protect yourself. Regular checkups and testing is key. I had no symptoms and honestly never gave it a thought. I found out because my fiance finally got up the nerve to tell me he was a cheater. We had been together 8 years at the time so I assumed we were in a monogamous relationship. I come in and he is at the dining room table looking really serious. I ask what is wrong and he says I think I have HIV. I couldn't process or wrap my head around that. I was so confused. So, I say trust but always protect yourself.

The only way to know for certain if you have HIV is to get tested. There's no way to tell just by looking at someone — or by how you feel — since many people with HIV show no visible signs at all.

When symptoms do appear, they can be easy to miss or mistake for something else. They may include:

- Fever
- Skin rashes
- Fatigue
- Anxiety or depression

These can show up early or sometimes not at all, which is why testing is so important. Testing is free and confidential in many places. If a test comes back positive, a doctor will refer you right away to start antiretroviral therapy (ART), which helps manage HIV effectively.

Knowing your status is one of the most powerful steps you can take for your health. 💙
