Just recently I was faced with this task as a family member showed up at my doorstep homeless addicted without a job and so forth I did as much as I could but I sought advice and services in the area and managed to get her into a rehab and a shelter. It was very very difficult to do but I knew it was the right thing to do because here at my home she would get no support or Services which she desperately needs.
@A myHIVteam Member, I have been there myself. I shot dope for years and thought Aids was around the corner. I am also lucky, grateful, and blessed through others. Today, I am in undetectable with healthy tcells above the aids diagnosis.
The only person I've had to put in a psychiatric institution was myself, due to severe major depressive disorder. I will say that there was no aftercare support, so I'm basically dealing with things on my own.
No, I haven't. My family disowned me over money and my status. I had to look after my own self. I am thankful for the help that I received from psychiatry facilities. Also, make sure the person feels safe and understood by staff. Sometimes just being there is means more than you might think of know.
