What are the benefits of eating apples with peanut butter after a workout while living with HIV? Great snack choice, by the way — it's delicious AND nutritious!

Apples with peanut butter make a solid post-workout snack for people living with HIV. Here's why this combo works so well:

- Apples provide natural carbohydrates to replenish energy, plus fiber, vitamins, and minerals that support immune health
- Peanut butter is a lean protein source that helps repair and build muscle after exercise — especially important since HIV can sometimes contribute to muscle loss
- Healthy fats in peanut butter help your body absorb nutrients more effectively, which can also support better absorption of ART medications
- Together, they help stabilize blood sugar, keeping energy levels steady after exercise Regular exercise itself is highly beneficial when living with HIV — it helps maintain a healthy weight, reduces stress, improves mood, and may even support immune function.

Pairing smart post-workout nutrition like this snack with consistent exercise is a great self-care strategy. Always check with your healthcare provider or a registered dietitian to make sure your overall diet aligns with your specific health needs.
