I went from pill to injections for awhile, but I had to stop taking injections because they would counter react with my heart medication. When I first started the injections, the needles themselves didn't really hurt. One needle is smaller and you barely feel it, the other needle is bigger, you do feel that. For the first injection, your butt cheeks hurt for a couple of days afterward. The pain wasn't bad, more like a nuisance for a few days than pain. After a few more injections, then it was nothing but a little nuisance for a few hours and good to go. But it can be different for different people. THIS WAS MY EXPERIENCE. I wish I was able to stay on the injections.

ALL HIV drugs increase weight.

I am just a year on ARVs. Briefly Biktarvy and now Dovato. My kidney is grateful. On those 4 months on Biktarvy, I gained 10 pounds. Since changing to Dovato some of that has come off.
