For me, it helped shape my worldview, made me stronger, and showed me who around me really cared about me. Improved my sense of humor and helped me look at some things through a different lens.

I too found out who my true friends were. It had definitely made me view life differently and truly appreciate everyday and the special people in my life. Sometimes it takes something so devastating and life altering to really open your eyes to the world around you.

You figured out who your true friends are in life, fortunately I had fantastic friends. I taught 15 years after being diagnosed. Once I retired after 19 years and being on antivirals that were taking their toll, I decided to hit the road and travel. Spent a fantastic 7 years exploring and loving every minute. I managed by medications and labs while on the road. Going on 71 and I am giving some thought to ending my travels. I am not sure I would have decided to hit the road if I hadn't been diagnosed in 2000 with HIV.

Unfortunately AIDS came into my life at a young age when straight friends of mine brother and sister died of AIDS due to heroin addiction. Then the cards started falling quickly so I never had a life without hiv. I've lived my life accordingly.❤️

It really opened my eyes to a lot of things, such as who my real friends were, and who the judgemental ones were
