I have a 3-day pill organizer (dolutegravir), and I also take trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. When my 9 o'clock alarm goes off, I take the pill and mark it on the calendar. I was having breakfast and there was one pill left in the organizer. Now that I see it's empty, I thought it must have fallen on the floor; it's nowhere to be found. What should I do? 😱🙈

I recorded it at the time of taking it and the missing pill is missing from the calendar; it is noted by numbers and one pill is missing.

Are you worried you accidentally took a double dose of dolutegravir?

First, take a deep breath. If you accidentally took a double dose of dolutegravir, it's generally well-tolerated, although it may increase the risk of temporary side effects. The most important thing is not to take another dose today.

Here's what you can do:

* Contact your doctor or pharmacist today to let them know.
* Don't take another dose until tomorrow at your usual time.
* Watch for any unusual side effects, such as headache, dizziness, or trouble sleeping.
* Continue with your normal medication schedule starting tomorrow.

To avoid future confusion, consider these tips:

* Mark your calendar immediately when you take the pill, not afterward.
* Check your pill organizer right before taking the dose to confirm it's there.
* If you find the pill organizer empty when you think it should have a pill, check your calendar before taking another one.

The good news is that you already have an excellent system with alarms and a calendar. You just need to adjust the time you record the shot.

Primero, respira tranquilo.
