Members strongly affirmed that stress can impact CD4 counts, explaining that chronic stress raises cortisol levels which temporarily suppresses immune cell production, though they reassured that fluctuations of 75 to 100 points are normal as long as viral load remains undetectable. Several members shared practical strategies including workplace protections under FMLA and ADA laws, patient assistance programs for medication coverage during job transitions, calming supplements like ashwagandha and magnesium glycinate, and stress-reduction techniques such as physiological sighs and vagus nerve resets. A recurring theme was that when a job causes such severe stress that it shows up in bloodwork, prioritizing mental health and leaving toxic work environments is not only valid but medically necessary, with many celebrating the original poster's decision to resign and her doctor's confirmation that her immune system remains strong.

I saw my infectious disease doctor this morning. She said she wasn't concerned about the low level since my percentage was still strong and I'm still U=U. She said stress can definitely cause that to happen though. She said it was smart for me to resign from the job that was just stressing me. And they're going to help me with meds and doctor's visits until I get myself back into a job with insurance.

No worry because cd4 counts will vary from time to time depending on stress and general health and alcohol consumption.

I once had labs come back that were low enuf to cause my id pcp huge concern but the blood samples were at that time sent out for analyzing so another set of labs was taken and sent to a local lab and fhe results came back as normal which was a huge relief to us both so just watch your diet get exercise and try to maintain a happiness 😊

I don't think that much. Lack of sleep and stress always weakens your immune system. Even in healthy people. So far from what I've seen over here. Its seems to be normal for your CD4 to swing up or down by 75 to 100 points. As long as your VL is ok and your CD4% didn't move.
