Your comments on World AIDS Day vs. The White House jogged my memory of the President current Republicans treat as a deity - Ronald Reagan. He first came to office in the 1980 federal election. . He was President when we learned about the plague attacking gay men, Haitians and IV drug users. He was still President through those early years of horror, shame, ostracism, KS, AIDS Hotlines, 24 hour visiting hours for AIDS wings at hospitals, Too many died too young from a disease we.knew nothing about. In the mid-1980s I was working at the entertainment newspaper, Daily Variety in Hollywood. President Ronald Reagan, Leader of the Free World refused to publicly say the word ‘AIDS’. To paraphrase the horrific saying, ‘There’s nothing better than a dead homosexual.’ Army Archerd, the columnist at Daily Variety, told the news to the world that Rock Hudson had AIDS and was dying. President Reagan blinked. ‘Not Rock?! He’s a friend of Nancy’s and mine. How could Rock get AIDS? He’s a movie star.’

AIDS had been with us for a few years. ‘Only THOSE TYPES OF PEOPLE got it.’ It took Rock Hudson, a world-famous movie star, to have AIDS for our President to have the human decency to acknowledge the disease that would become our 20th century plague.

Am I shocked by The White House no longer acknowledging the AIDS crisis? Not really. This is the same White House that defunded and subsequently destroyed USAID - the phenomenally successful foreign aid program that over the past few decades drove the funding that had been single biggest factor in the declining worldwide numbers of newly HIV infected and worldwide powerhouse in getting viable treatment protocols and medicine to those in need throughout the world.

There is more that I strongly suspect about Mr Trump than I know for a fact. Is he a rapist? Well he is convicted of that; and I am more inclined to believe a jury than him. Remember Day 1 of Trump1 began with Kelly Ann telling us (on behalf of Trump) that the inauguration crowds were the largest ever. Our eyeballs and free press showed any observer that was a false assertion. It doesn't seem to have stopped; given what we can see vs hear him say about Ms Good.

Disrupting the world order might be what some people want; but most of us are rather happy that we've avoided major global wars for 80 years. I don't understand why one wishes global conflict? There are a lot more losers than winners with them.

LGBT community is not the only group suffering in the US. the whole country is suffering under this current administration. The entire Republican Party is only concerned with the top 1% of this country who have financed them into office and they are the only ones they are truly working for. The rest of us need to bring about change by keeping our family and friends aware of what this party is doing. The president is trying to control the press so that the country is kept unaware of all the injustice going on and the supreme court is joke. They continue to give more presidential more and more power to the president to do as he pleases to satisfy the top 1%. I love my country and worry of where we’re headed.

That wasn’t a complaint just trying to make people aware. Half the country is unaware of what’s going on.

So what... Do we need our own day... U can't tell anyone u have it.. and it's certainly no reason to celebrate
