After watching today hearings I’m more concerned than I was .. it doesn’t seem to matter to this administration who they hurt unfortunately. But I do think the state u live in will determine your access. I have bed. Doing all this for a long time if anyone needs any help feel free to message me !

As someone doing this 30 years now I find it harder for people right now to get access, things are a mess! I’m truly worried this go around

There is only one doctor at my HIV clinic here in the UK and his English is so poor that communicating with him is difficult.

There is also only one doctor at my general practice clinic and her English is also poor. Communicating with her is even more difficult.

So these are two substantial barriers obstructing my care.

The UK health system is in such a bad way that quite a lot of our own UK-trained young doctors have fled, and are still fleeing, to countries where working conditions are better for them. For this reason the UK government has been recruiting doctors from countries which are often referred to as being third-world. Some or many of them may be well-qualified but nevertheless their patient-communication skills are not satisfactory for detailed and helpful discussions.

That truly isn't ideal, as you said these people are likely to be well qualified but communication is extremely important. Plus here Lived Experience has become extremely important in Health and Mental Health. We are still very lucky so far 🤞
