Before sex. Undectable is for you. They have to decide if they want to use a condom, use prep or have sex at all. We can't make that decision for them.

I'm open with everyone all the time. I'm in Georgia and it's the law that you have to tell everyone or go to prison. Prison sex does sound hot though. I used to own the Jeff Stryker collection.

I only bring it up when sex becomes involved. But if it's not I don't say anything

While being undetectable means you cannot transmit HIV through sex, it's still important to disclose your status to dating partners. This creates an opportunity for honest communication and allows your partner to make informed choices. Many find that disclosing from a position of being undetectable can help them feel more confident and in control of the conversation.

Before having the conversation, consider waiting until you feel comfortable and safe with the person. Choose a private setting where you both can talk openly without interruption. A helpful approach is to first ask your partner about their knowledge and attitudes about HIV. This allows you to address any misconceptions they may have before sharing your own status. You can then explain what being undetectable means and how you manage your health.

Remember that while disclosure can feel scary, many people find their partners to be understanding and accepting. Some myHIVteam members report feeling more confident after sharing their status. If someone reacts negatively, it's important to remember that this reflects their lack of education about HIV, not your worth as a person.
