well we all know having HIV we will not die from AIDS as long as we stay on our meds unless some crazy new strain pops up.however having this virus everyone on here at one point thought about the end.Inflammation from HIV ,and since only 5% of HIV is in our bloodstream which ARVS control. The other 95% of the virus is hiding in lymph nodes, the brain the gut and god knows where else, where ARVS can’t control . So when the time comes and it will. Do you have a plan? Members reflected on the deeply personal topic of end-of-life planning while living with HIV, with many expressing a strong desire to maintain dignity and control over how they leave this world. Several members shared that they have DNR orders in place, wish to avoid being kept alive by machines, and find comfort in focusing on living fully today rather than fearing death. A recurring theme was resilience, with members drawing strength from surviving past health crises, honoring loved ones lost, and choosing hope and presence over anxiety about what may come.

Dont worry Brad. Whilst your undetectable the blood, HIV in the Brain and other Body Parts, can no longer re produce.. and will die off in the Brain etc, until such time that you stop taking your medicine. Yes its a certainty that something else will kill us, and it is a horrible thought. For example my Father died of heart failure at age 90. He was found dead in his shower room one monday morning by the Porter. My mother died of a brain tumour at age 53. They ar buried side by side. I dont worry about death certificates, but I do worry that Im running out of time being nearly 66 years old, and theres nothing I can do about it. My advice to everyone is try to enjoy every remaining day of our short lives. Thats all we can do.

I like the idea of departing this mortal plain on my own terms ..

At least I know once my body says " no more " that I will be placed next to my late husband since we have side by side burial spaces.

That way we can go thru eternity as we lived side by side .

Brad3, good morning friend, it has certainly crossed my mind but I have full confidence that I will not die in a hospital bed and if the case arises I will do what my late husband did, I will tell my doctor not to resuscitate, I do not want machines or tubes.
But until that day comes I will live each day with strength.
A hug from afar
