I joined this site to meet like minded individuals living with HIV not to debate or push my beliefs on one another! I have good days and bad days! I want to learn, share our experiences, be an ear, and support each other without promoting hate of any kind. I love the inspirational stories yet want to be a conduit of hope for the broken! We all need some body!

I attempted suicide due to a lack of support living with HIV! Let’s focus on stories of survival vs our differences in beliefs and… read more

Members shared heartfelt reasons for joining MyHIVTeam, with the most common theme being a desire to find understanding, non-judgmental connection with others living with HIV. Several members described feeling isolated after diagnosis, whether due to unsupportive families, toxic friendships, or simply never having a space to process their feelings, and found comfort in reading others' stories and knowing they are not alone. A recurring theme was the value of shared experience, from learning about medications and stigma to simply having a community that truly understands the emotional highs and lows of living with HIV.

I was feeling like a newly diagnosed patient isolated and alone. My family is not supporting about the HIV or the gay issue. My friends are negative however they do ask me a lot of questions which is great. All my positive friends were toxic. Here I have people who to connect with and know how I'm feeling. Wonderful question everyone have a fantastic weekend 😀.

I joined to find people I can relate to. Learn from their experiences regarding hiv, aids, meds and dealing with stigma and deciding whether or not to tell my friends and family.

Great question. Sometimes it gets heated in here. But as human beings we express are opinions. As long as we are not combative or rude I value people on my team to give me there thoughts on my posts . I take some opinions with a grain of salt and others I love there thoughts on what they say. I’m an open book you can ask me anything and I will express my feelings. But will never degrade anyone. For we are all in this together through good times and bad times 😊

@A myHIVteam Member I recommend just ignoring those posts. But one reason some of us engage in them as that this year our choices might be available affordable ARVs or no affordable ARVs. And given our community here is dependent upon them the discussions of politics is relevant; albeit unpleasant.

Hi, this is just a check-in, based on a phrase you mentioned. If you — or anyone else who sees this — is thinking about self-harm, we want to say that you are an important part of this community. No part of this is easy, but there is support that can help. Read more >
