Awhile back, I asked a question about three times a year prep and if you think people would take it more then daily pills.
Here is a new one once a year prep.
What are your thoughts?

After reading this article, I'd say that there would be a lot of persasaons who would rather use this than taking pills. Let's look at something, PrEP is for persons that are HIV-, so the chances of that group using this are very slim. Even though this device can be useful for up to a year. Still, the chances of those who are negative using this device are not that good. Now should this device be available for persons who are HIV+ as a treatment option as opposed to taking pills, I could see it being widely used.

The benefit of a bimonthly shot is that the clinic can test. I would get concerned about an annual plan as I suspect other STIs would not be detected.

I wouldn't want any implants

I think an implant that works for a year is brilliant. It reminds me of the implant birth control.
An implanted PReP is great for those who are shall we say “party” friendly. This would prevent possible missed doses

I don't think it is THAT kind of implant @A myHIVteam Member. Talk about PrEP with some PEP! 🤠❤️
