I’m noticing so many young women joining us here from around the world. While I welcome them, I’m sad that their infection wasn’t avoided. I see advertisements constantly encouraging HIV negative gay men to go on PrEP. I know gay men whose doctors encouraged PrEP. Perhaps I’m just missing it, but I don’t see the same push for sexually active women.

@A myHIVteam Member, I hope we can agree that having unprotected sex outside of your relationship, when your partner believes they are in a monogamous relationship, is probably not proper. That’s not fair to the unsuspecting partner. That doesn’t make them a bad person. Human urges override good judgment. Always has. Always will.
Most of us mature and learn to manage the itch, but few have consistently managed it properly throughout our life. Humans seek sex. As long as we pretend otherwise, we’ll keep being suppressed with positive results on HIV and other tests.
Most people who believe that they are in a monogamous relationship are lying to themselves. Even the best ones, who mean well, get that itch.
